● A teapot with warmer to keep your tea hot

It couldn't be simpler: slip a tealight candle into the openwork base, light it and place the teapot on top. The small flame keeps your tea hot while you enjoy it, with no need to reheat it.

The warmer is designed to keep brewed tea warm: it does not boil water. Heat the water in a kettle, brew your tea in the teapot, then set it on its warmer. The round openings let the candlelight flicker through.

● Yama: a mountain landscape painted on ceramic

Yama means “mountain” in Japanese. At the base of each teapot, two peaks are painted in soft gradients, a motif that recalls the landscapes of Japanese prints and ceramics.

The matte, lightly textured finish contrasts with the glaze of the design. The black metal handle, wrapped in natural fibres, and the lid topped with a round knob complete a simple silhouette in the Japanese spirit.

● Three colours to choose from

  • Black: black ceramic, mountains in green and brown tones.
  • White: white ceramic, mountains in brown and gold tones.
  • Ochre: ochre ceramic, mountains in green and brown tones.

In each colour, the warmer matches the teapot.

● Making tea with your Yama teapot

  1. Warm the teapot with a little hot water, then empty it.
  2. Heat water in a kettle and let it cool to suit your tea: around 70–80 °C for Japanese green tea, 90–95 °C for black tea.
  3. Brew your tea for the recommended time, then remove the leaves to avoid bitterness.
  4. Light the tealight in the warmer and place the teapot on top to keep your tea hot.

● FAQ: Yama Japanese teapot with warmer

What is the Yama teapot's warmer for?

The warmer keeps your tea hot while you enjoy it. It works with a standard tealight candle, not included, placed inside the base. It keeps brewed tea warm, but it is not designed to boil water.

Can the Yama teapot be used on the hob?

No, the Yama teapot is used with its tealight warmer, not directly on a flame, a hob or in the oven. Heat the water in a kettle, pour it into the teapot to brew your tea, then place the teapot on the warmer.

What is the capacity of the Yama teapot?

The Yama teapot holds 350 ml, around 2 cups, or 4 small Japanese teacups. It is an ideal size for a tea moment on your own or for two.

Which colours are available?

The Yama teapot comes in three colours: black and ochre, with mountains painted in green and brown tones, and white, with mountains in brown and gold tones. The warmer matches the colour of the teapot.

What does Yama mean?

Yama means “mountain” in Japanese. The name refers to the mountain landscape painted at the base of the teapot, a motif widely found in Japanese art and ceramics.

How do I care for the Yama teapot?

Hand wash the teapot and warmer, without abrasive sponges, and dry them thoroughly. The handle is metal, so the teapot is not microwave safe. Avoid thermal shock, such as cold water in a very hot teapot.

What precautions should I take with the candle?

Place the warmer on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from anything flammable. Never leave the candle burning unattended, keep it out of reach of children and pets, and never leave the teapot empty on a lit warmer.

How is it different from the Ishi and Nami teapots?

The Ishi and Nami teapots are made of cast iron and are larger: 1.2 L for the Ishi, a brewing teapot, and 800 ml for the Nami, which heats water on a gas hob. The Yama teapot is ceramic, more compact at 350 ml, and comes with its own warmer to keep tea hot.

Is the Yama teapot a good gift?

Yes. With its warmer and mountain design, the Yama teapot is an original gift for tea lovers and fans of Japanese culture. Paired with teacups, it becomes a small, complete Japanese tea set.

Can I return the teapot?

Yes. You have 60 days to return your teapot if it is not right for you. Shipping is tracked and our customer support team is happy to answer your questions before and after your order.
